Doctoral Program
Doctoral students in Greeko are currently investigating the significance of sustainable engineering in effectively tackling worldwide environmental issues such as climate change and resource depletion. Additionally, there is ongoing research and investigation into the incorporation of renewable energy technologies within the framework of sustainable engineering practices.
Master's Program
Greenko School of Sustainability's Master's program offers students a comprehensive curriculum in sustainable development, renewable energy, and resource management, as well as hands-on projects and internships in real-world settings. Students in the Master's program gains practical experience through field trips and industry collaborations, allowing them to apply their knowledge and skills to real-world environmental challenges.
Undergraduate Program
Greenko School of Sustainability at IIT Hyderabad does not currently offer a Bachelor's degree in Sustainability Studies, but plans to do so in the future to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices.

The Greenko School of Sustainability at IIT Hyderabad offers an innovative doctoral program in sustainability, equipping aspiring scholars with the expertise to advance environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
Candidates
with First Class degrees in their respective bachelor’s and master’s programs
can apply.
Candidates
shall
hold M.Tech/M.Sc/M.Arch/M.Des in
any discipline aligned with the research thrust areas of the school.
Candidates
with BTech/BS/BDes from
CFIs (IITs/IISc/IISERs) with 8 or above CGPA are also eligible to apply.
Candidates with BTech/BS/BDes from
institutes other than CFTIs need to have a valid GATE/CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF/
DST-Inspire etc.
Candidates
with
BTech/BS/BDes from
CFIs (IITs/IISc/IISERs) with 9 or above CGPA will get a special
fellowship of Rs. 80,000/pm for 4 years (Not applicable to external PhD
category). However,
limited seats will be available in this category.

The Greenko School of
Sustainability provides a highly competitive fellowships for those who wish to
go an extra mile to pursue doctoral studies on Sustainable Engineering.
The school offers about
six fellowships per year with a fellowship of INR 75,000 per month with a
contingency grant of INR 2,00,000 per annum.
Successful fellows will
get an opportunity to work in cutting-edge research undertaken by the faculty
of the school.
The fellowship is
available for four years.

The Greenko School of Sustainability at IIT Hyderabad offers a pioneering Master's program focused on sustainability, preparing future leaders to drive environmental stewardship and sustainable development.
Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria are permitted to apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in the following subjects: Architecture and Planning (AR), Biotechnology (BT), Civil Engineering (CE), Chemical Engineering (CH), Chemistry (CY), Computer Science and Information Technology (CS), Electronics and Communication Engineering (EC), Electrical Engineering (EE), Environmental Science and Engineering (ES), Instrumentation Engineering (IN), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Physics (PH), Metallurgical Engineering (MT) , Engineering Science (XE) .
The submission of a GATE score is a mandatory.
The selection of candidates will be conducted in accordance with the online COAP process.
MoE scholarship will be available for GATE qualified selected candidates.
The school also supports ten additional
fellowships for which GATE qualification is compulsory.
The selected applicants will be notified via email. The list will also be posted on the department's website, and candidates should regularly check their email for updates. For the selection process, the COAP guidelines will be adhered to.
GATE qualification is waived for industry-sponsored candidates with a minimum of two years of experience or for IIT undergraduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.0.
MoE scholarship will be available for GATE qualified
selected candidates.

The M.Tech program in E-waste Resource Engineering and Management spans a duration of two years, with admissions being facilitated through three distinct modes.
Candidates who have completed a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Engineering Physics, Minerals Engineering, or related fields, along with a GATE qualification, or those who have obtained a Master's degree in Physics or Chemistry with a NET/GATE qualification, are eligible to apply. Candidates sponsored by the industry, who possess a minimum of two years of experience, or IIT undergraduates with a minimum CGPA of 8.0, are exempted from the requirement of NET/GATE qualification. Alternatively, this option is available for individuals who are funding their own candidacy.

The Greenko School of Sustainability is offering a MINOR in Sustainable Engineering as an Undergraduate Program from AY 2026. The program is designed to impart basic understanding of Sustainability and provide exposure to cutting-edge sustainable technologies.
